How We Work

Just for practitioners

Healing Local was created using the best features of current search and referral platforms like Yelp, Linked In, and Airbnb. Each of these platforms offers great components, but we wanted to bring these components together into a platform just for health practitioners. After all, potential patients don’t need to find out if you serve tacos or burritos, they need to find out if you can fix their headache.

Before we began, we brainstormed with a group of Spokane-area health practitioners. We asked them what kind of platform and what kinds of features could best serve their practices. Over the course of many meetings we refined the idea to create a search and referral platform that’s the ideal match for holistic and allopathic practitioners alike.

Location-based

Healing Local is location-based like Craigslist. Rather than have one giant site that serves many areas, we’ve broken up our platform into separate sites that are specific to metro-areas. This allows us to ensure that practitioners are being seen by potential patients whom they could actually serve, rather than ones who may not be a good match for them. This omits wasted effort on the part of practitioners.

Additionally, being location-specific allows us to be more flexible in meeting the specific need of each city or metro area in which we’re located.

Locally run

We’re located in the Inland Northwest. Our teams have homes and offices in Spokane, Spokane Valley, Cheney, and Cocolalla to be more exact. We care about the communities here, both urban and rural. Part of the Healing Local mission is to give back to our community through health.

Ethically structured

Healing Local is  a public benefit corporation, not a profit-driven corporation. As a public benefit corporation, benefiting our users, the population at large,  and the environment are all a part of our charter. Give a portion of our profits back to the community, implementing fair hiring practices, and protecting the privacy of our users are all an integral part of our business.

Open to all

Healing Local honors the patient’s experience. We’re made for all kinds of practitioners from allopathic to holistic. If a patient or health client has experienced success with your practice and your modality, you’re welcome here.
